The deaths that occur due to heart diseases are on a rise now a day. This was first limited to only elderly people a few years ago. It is now a common problem that has been affecting the younger generation as well. There are so many pre mature deaths that are caused due to such illnesses.

The major contribution to this is by the change in lifestyle. Since everyone has now become busy in their daily chores, there is a considerable change in the way he leads his life, the food that he eats and also the amount of rest that he gets.
Food has played an important role in managing ones health issues. It is also what we eat that results in the increase in the cholesterol levels that in turn increases the risk of heart diseases. Let us take a look at a few eating habits that result in the increase in cholesterol levels.

1. Mark the consumption of meat to the minimal: If you are a meat eater, you need to push it to a smaller part of your diet. Red meat can be a higher source of cholesterol that can prove to be harmful for your body. Avoid meats such as beef, pork and lamb. Instead you can consume fish and skinless white meat i.e. poultry.

2. Mind your snacks: It is a common thing to feel hungry in between meals. You can snack onto something. But, watch out what you eat. Avoid high fat snacks such as chips, candies etc. Instead you can carry some homemade popcorns, fruits, dried fruits or carrots with you to eat when you feel hungry.

3. Eat lots of Fruits and Vegetables: The fiber content of fruits and vegetables has proved to be very helpful in many ways. Eating fruits and vegetables will also help you avoid the intake of unnecessary fats and thus lower cholesterol levels. You can add green tea in your daily diet to improve your fat burning metabolism.

4. Eat lots of Fish: Fishes are good sources of fatty acids such as omega-3s and omega-6s that are not produced by the human body. These are essential fatty acids that contribute highly in improving the cholesterol levels.

5. Consume Low Fat dairy products: Milk and milk products are considered to be
healthy due to the high proteins that they contain. But, along with proteins, these products are said to contain higher amounts of fats that are harmful for the body. One should opt for low fat dairy products that will give you enough protein without the fats that they may contain.

6. Reduce the amount of Salt Consumed: High Blood pressure is also a form of a cardiovascular disease that many people suffer from. Higher consumption of salt is found to be a major cause for the same. Thus, it is always better to consume less salt to prevent hypertension.

7. Avoid Alcohol: Consumption of alcohol has also been a major cause for people to suffer from the chronic heart diseases. Alcohol is never found to be useful to anyone in anyways. According to various dieticians in America, Women are advised to take not more than one drink per day and men are not supposed to exceed more than one or at the max two drinks in a day.

These 7 are found to be the major reasons why people may suffer from cardiovascular diseases. Avoiding such foods that contain higher amounts of fats will help in avoiding these illnesses as well. Along with the foods that we eat, a little bit of exercise and burning of the excess fat and calories that we may consume will help in preventing the worst situations. Thus, a little attention paid to the food we eat and the exercises that we perform will help live a healthier life by avoiding such serious illnesses.
