The American magazine "US News & World Report's" published a list of the best diets for 2013,and for the third year in a row the as the best diet was chosen the "DASH" diet,which with its nutritional balance once again won the jury and completely justified the title for the best diet in the world for 2013.
The combination of proteins,fruits,vegetables and grains,which are within the recommended "DASH" diet or the "Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension",amazed the jury of 22 doctors and psychologists.
The primary goal of this diet is lowering the blood pressure,and besides that it is a diet that has a high nutritional value,and offers the best combination of nutrients from all the modern diets.
This diet contains much B12 and potassium,ingredients that are rarely present in the majority of diets.Smaller amounts of salt are recommended,not more than 1.5 grams for people older than 51 years of age.
The author of the diet is the nutritionist Marley Heller,which meal plan was arranged in two stages,so while the other diets have a major detrimental impact on the overall health,this diet is a revolutionary way to lose weight.
Heller explained that the essence of the diet is concentrating on the type of food that enters the body,so the important thing is to choose non-fat proteins and healthy fats,which give a feeling of fullness and control the appetite.
So those who will chose the "DASH" diet,they don't need to think too much about which foods they need to avoid.
Two stages of the diet
In order to achieve the desired goal,a flat stomach,lower blood pressure and acceleration of the metabolism,it is important to strictly adhere to the two-week meal plan,and then to proceed with the second phase.
What is especially important is that during the first 14 days,people have to refrain from the intake of carbohydrates,so during the first two weeks,they can not eat fruits and whole grains,while proteins or lean meat and fish,vegetables that do not contain starch,cheese with less fat allowed.
In the second phase in the diet are included cereals from whole grains,fruits and vegetables that contain starch.Most of the people loose more than two pounds in two weeks,or between 4.5 and 15 pounds in two months.
The diet,and cited by the author,primarily removes the fat around the stomach,which are created as a result from the intake of excessive amounts of carbohydrates.
♦ Consume foods rich with proteins,and in this group are,lean meat,fish and processed products,beans,lentils,soy,eggs, unsweetened yogurt.
♦ Eat foods that contain omega - 3 and unsaturated fats,such as avocados,vegetable oils,especially olive oil,and oil from nuts.
♦ Avoid foods that are rich with starch,except the beans.Avoid the consumption of bread,pasta,potatoes,rice,sweets,including fruits,regardless of whether it is fresh,frozen,dried or canned. Avoiding alcohol is also recommended,drinks that contain caffeine and the milk.
