A quick Google search will reveal hundreds of different strategies and suggestions for losing weight, but do they all really work? It is easy to become inundated with all of the weight loss information available out there, which often results in one of two things.

One, you become so overwhelmed with all of the options that you don’t know what to do and end up quitting before you get started. Or, two, you try everything all at once and can’t stick to it all, so you still experience defeat. Don’t let all the information get to you. Instead, consider these four tried and true strategies for losing weight and pick which one works best for you. By choosing one weight loss strategy, you’ll be able to stick to your plan and be successful in no time.

1. Count Calories

Counting calories is one of the most common ways people use to lose weight. It’s relatively straightforward, and it typically works, as long as you’re honest with your portion sizes. The key with this strategy is to create a calorie deficit based on how much you are consuming. By eating fewer calories, your body burns its stores of fat and other tissue, and you lose weight. However, to continue losing, you may need to continue your calorie-deficitplan. In any case, though, cutting calories can be as simple as avoiding high-calorie foods and snacks, swapping high-calorie options for lower-calorie choices, and reducing portion sizes.

2. Hit the Gym

Getting active is another effective strategy for weight loss. In reality, creating a regular gym routine if you’ve never been one to get active before is one of the best ways to create a calorie deficit. By adding more movement into your day, you’re naturally burning more calories. Starting an exercise routine is a great way to jumpstart your weight loss, but it’s typically not as effective without changing up your diet in some way.

3. Try a Meal Replacement

Meal replacements are a great way to get healthy and lose weight. It takes the guessing game out of counting calories, supports an exercise regimen, and contains all the nutrients you need. Shakes are the most common form of meal replacement and come in a variety of flavors with several different nutritional options, which makes them one of the more convenient and healthy weight loss programs. If you’ve tried other weight loss strategies with no success, try a meal replacement shake in place of at least one meal a day and see if it makes a difference.

4. Eat More Frequently

Eating more frequently is a commonly touted weight loss strategy; however, it can be a bit tricky. The goal here is to eat small meals frequently to keep your metabolism active. The only problem that people run into is they end up consuming extra calories that they don’t really need. If you try this strategy, you might want to pair it with counting calories to avoid sabotaging your weight loss efforts.

There are lots of different strategies for losing weight, but they don’t have to be complicated. Give one of these weight loss methods a try and jumpstart your weight loss journey.
