Sweating is natural and is the body’s way of helping cool your core temperature. 

Sometimes it can even feel good to work up a sweat, but if you find yourself sweating even when you're stationary in an air conditioned room, you might have a problem. The official medical term for sweating too much is hyperhidrosis, and it affects about 1-3% of the world's population. Hyperhidrosis can not only be uncomfortable, it can also be embarrassing. Luckily, there are plenty of simple changes you can make to help you overcome it.

Pay Attention to Your Deodorants

If you have a serious sweating problem, you may need to upgrade your deodorant. Finding one that has a higher aluminum salt content will help keep your sweating to a minimum, as the salt restricts your sweat glands. Applying deodorant twice a day (once in the morning and once before bed) can also drastically improve your body's ability to better maintain its sweat production. But be sure not to reapply it when you're already sweaty, as that will only irritate your skin.

Avoid Eating Food That's Too Spicy and Excess Caffeine

Spicy foods and caffeine both stimulate your sweat glands, so cutting out the morning coffee and the extra hot sauce on your lunch can help keep sweating to a minimum. Eating food that is too hot temperature-wise can also sometimes lead to excessive sweating for a short period of time, so letting your food cool off a bit before eating it can help too.

Try Wearing Thinner, More Comfortable Clothes

This one may seem obvious, but try to cut down on wearing any excessive clothing. A lot of body heat comes in through the feet, so try wearing thinner socks. You could also find men’s undershirts made of a thinner, more breathable material that absorbs excess moisture, like the ones found at

It is a good idea to check with your physician so you can find the root of your problem. There might be something causing your excessive sweating that you aren't aware of. For example, you might have high blood pressure. And certain medications, especially anti-depressants and diabetes medications, often list hyperhidrosis as a common side effect.

Excessive sweating may seem like a problem that will haunt and embarrass you forever, but so long as you take these few extra steps to fix your problem, you will find yourself budding with self-confidence and no longer worrying about your sweating in no time.
