Are you abusing the snooze on your alarm? You can hear it, but you are just not ready to wake up.

And throughout the day you find yourself wondering why you are still tired and ready for a nap before lunch time. Maybe you have a condition known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Not to be confused with temporary fatigue, Chronic Fatigue lingers much longer.

Three of the most common factors causing Chronic Fatigue Syndrome are medical conditions, psychological problems, and lifestyle habits.

Medical Conditions

Many times there is a medical condition causing your Chronic Fatigue. The following are just some of the conditions that might be the cause of your exhaustion:

• Chronic kidney disease
• COPD
• Anemia
• Obesity
• Sleep apnea
• Diabetes
• Heart disease
• Fibromyalgia
• Cancer
• Acute liver failure
• Emphysema
• Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS)

If your fatigue continues consult your doctor immediately. You may consider visiting a cardiovascular clinic like ICE, Institute of Cardiovascular Excellencefor further testing of your heart.

Psychological Problems

It is possible you may have a psychological problem causing your fatigue. The following are some of the most common symptoms of this problem:

• Stress
• Depression
• Anxiety
• Grief

It is likely you are stressed over a work or home situation. Maybe you are experiencing depression or anxiety due to a sudden life change, and grief is a common factor linked to the loss of a loved one. If you feel you may have any of these symptoms, consult your doctor immediately for an evaluation.

Lifestyle

You may not realize that your everyday lifestyle can be a contributing factor to your fatigue. The following are some of the possible elements to this connection:

• Poor sleep habits
• Poor eating habits
• Caffeine intake
• Alcohol abuse

If possible, create a regular sleep schedule and try waking up at the same time every day. Consider a healthier diet and control your caffeine intake. You may even want to eliminate the use of alcohol. Train yourself to get into a daily exercise routine. If, after all this, you still feel fatigue, consult your doctor immediately.

Remember that
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is not a condition that should be ignored. The information above only covers some of the causes of fatigue. Don’t be the one that always puts everyone before you, forgetting to take care of yourself as well. If you feel you have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, contact your doctor immediately, as it can be a much bigger problem than just being tired.
