Daily consumption of orange juice prevents the development of cancer ,reports The Indian Express. This juice is useful primarily because of its high content of antioxidant flavonoids such as hesperidin and naringin.
The biological effect of the orange juice on the other hand, depends on the conditions in which they grow oranges ( air , land ), fruit maturity, storage methods. The most important biological effect of orange juice it is not only its antioxidant properties. It prevents cell mutation, toxicity antigen protects cells from changes that may lead to cancer, affects the hormones and has the ability to control cell signaling activity.
It is proved that orange juice has antimicrobial and antiviral activity that alters the absorption of xenobiotics(chemicals). Its positive impact on cancer manifests itself in all stages, from basic to advanced.
Previous laboratory studies have shown that the juice reduces the risk of blood cancer (leukemia) in children and helps with breast cancer, liver and colon.
But beware, a large amount of orange juice can be toxic. This is especially dangerous for children, people with hypertension, diabetes and kidney disease. At those people the juice can cause symptoms of poisoning, hyperkalemia, food allergies and bacterial infections, if the juice is not pasteurized. We should always keep in mind that excessive consumption of the healthiest foods can lead to oxidative imbalance.
