Raspberry, a delicious
early summer fruit, which has proven antiviral and anti-cancer effects. With a lot of antioxidants, vitamins and natural aspirin has found a place in folk medicine, but the food is unjustly neglected.

 

The raspberry fruit contains 8 % carbohydrate, 1% protein and low in fat ( o.6 %). It contains a lot of water, organic acids: citric, salicylic, ellagic and apple, then pectin, tannins, sugar fructose and sucrose as well as dietary fiber. Anti-cancer effect of raspberries comes from its high content of antioxidants. They prevent damage to the genetic material of the cell and its mutations in malignant cells. Because of this, more valuable is the raspberry with darker color. The most famous ingredient with anti-cancer properties is the ellagic acid, anthocyanins and polyphenols. Ellagic acid can prevent the formation of malignant cells, suppress slow partition of the already formed cancer cells and their spread. Interestingly, these acids are more found in the jam than the juice because it is in the capital of the raspberry seeds.

 

The antiviral effect of raspberries and content of natural aspirin has multiple healing effects on the body. It contains a lot of potassium so acting diuretic and it is beneficial for kidney, bladder, urinary tract, stone and sand in the kidneys and hypertension. Due to the content of pectin it can be beneficial to act with diarrhea. Raspberries contain natural aspirin and increases sweating. Together with antiviral activity may help diseases of the mouth,throat and lungs. The fruit stimulates the pancreas to secrete insulin, and it can be used by diabetics. Improves blood circulation and concentration.

Curative properties of the raspberry leaf are not tested, but it is used in the folk medicine
in a mixture of tea for the treatment of heart and blood vessels, stomach and intestine. It is recommended for the so-called spring blood cleaning. Folk medicine specifically recommends raspberry tea for gynecological diseases, hormonal disorders and infertility, mouth and throat inflammation, as well as in diarrhea.
