It is interesting that the cause of depression may lie in the food we eat. Food can also be a cure for depression.

There are foods that provoke depression : sugar, sweeteners, coffee and red meat in large amounts. If you drink 3 to 4 or more cups of coffee a day,you can become dependent on caffeine. It is a kind of a doping. When deprived of their usual daily dose a feeling of weakness may appear. You will be unhappy and lethargic - it's a caffeine depression. You can avoid this type of depression if you do not drink more than two cups of coffee a day. It is desirable to gradually reduce the use of coffee. Abrupt discontinuation of use can cause depression, and some headache.

The truth about sweets : when
people are in a bad mood they eat sweets, but too much sugar leads to fatigue and the worsening of the depression. Sweets also can cause dependence. Consequence of eating to much sweets is dependence of the body which is getting used to produce large quantities of insulin, which requires more sugar. If the body does not receive the expected dose of sugar we can fall in depression.

If red meat - pork, beef, lamb - is consumed often and in greater quantity, the organism fails to fully digest it. The intestine begins to collapse, forming toxins that are absorbed into the blood and act on the nervous system, causing fatigue, irritability and a depressed mood.

Often depression is not caused by the food, but from the habits related to nutrition. For example, if you are on a diet and eat the same food, often tasteless, it will dramatically worsen your mood and cause chronic fatigue. For a child select foods that you like, prepare and serve
them nicely.Diet with foods that you don't like can inflict psychological trauma.

Fearing from gaining weight, many people avoid important foods, which may lead to depression, for example, if you limit the intake of vegetable oils and fatty sea fish. Fatty sea fish, such as mackerel, salmon, sardines and tuna, contain high levels of omega 3 fatty acids that are essential for the functioning of the parts of the brain responsible for our mood. Insufficient magnesium, folic acid and vitamin B6, which is found in fruit and vegetables, leads to reduced levels of serotonin in the brain, which is very important for good mood.

It is not advisable to keep diet in the autumn months. Reduced daylight and colder weather already have a depressive effects. If you still keep a diet, it is necessary to reduce the weight gradually over a longer period of time - not abruptly.

In the fight against depression these foods can help: cheese, chicken, turkey, whole bread and pasta. They contain a substance from which synthesize neurotransmitters serotonin and dopamine, hormones of joy.

Red,orange and yellow colors can enhance the mood. If you are prone to depression keep on the table these foods: oranges, tangerines, carrots, pumpkin, peppers, pineapple and corn. Do not be afraid for your line if you eat some of it - all of these are low-calorie foods.

Do not forget to use foods rich in magnesium and vitamin B6. They reduce irritability and normalize sleep. That's nuts, bananas, green leafy vegetables, melons, and
mineral water also is useful with a higher content of magnesium.
